User:S Larctia/Wikipedia, Wikiversity and disruptive editing
From Wikiversity
Research goals [edit]
In this project we intend to compare the relationship between Wikipedia and Wikiversity's attitudes towards certain types of disruptive editing. We will both study long-term attitudes as well as a specific case of an individual editor. The hypothesis to be tested is: "The high prevalence of editors banned from Wikipedia on Wikiversity impedes the project's ability to effectively and consistently deal with disruptive editing."
Preliminary considerations [edit]
- Wikiversity tends to have a more conciliatory approach to disruptive editors. There are both advantages and disadvantages to this.
- Wikipedia's approach tends to prevent any further disruption, but greatly reduces the chances of disruptive editors reforming and becoming productive editors, thus increasing the chance of long term disruption
Timetable [edit]
Research will start in October 2011, and end by around Summer 2012.
