[edit] Trying to get more users into the #wikiversity-en channel

Well it's been almost a year since I used my wikiversity learning blog, but I finally have something to post about.
My first attempt back in March to try to make an easy way for people to get on IRC didn't seem to take off very well. I thought I'd make a better solution for people who don't want to [or don't know how to] edit their monobook.js.
So I made a page off-site which already has the IRC logon form and associated javascript on it, and uses the wikizine gateway. It uses the monobook skin and the wikiversity logo to make it look more familiar. It can be found here (tools.wikimedia.de)
You just enter a nickname and click logon. It will take you to the #wikiversity-en IRC channel on freenode. Custodians can edit the text on the page, as well.
There's been some discussion about adding a "live chat" tab to every page. I don't think CGI:IRC is our best bet for this, but it would be very interesting, so long as it can be implemented well somehow. Any takers? :] --Michael Billington (talk • contribs) 14:37, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] And we have a blog
06:08, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
Well, seeing as I'm the creator of the RSS bot which was made for Wikiversity learning blogs (User:MichaelBillingtonBot), it seems a bit odd that until now I didn't have one. So here it is. I can't see much being posted here, but it may as well exist :) -- Michael Billington (talk • contribs) 06:08, 10 February 2007 (UTC)
