Menelaos Pappas (Greek: Μενέλαος Παππάς ) holds a Diploma (M.Eng.) in Mechanical Engineering (2002, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics, University of Patras, Greece) and a Ph.D. (Dr.-Eng.) in the field of Digital Human Modeling for Computer-Aided Ergonomics (2009, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics, University of Patras, Greece). He is currently working as a Senior Research Engineer at the Laboratory for Manufacturing Systems and Automation - LMS (Dept. of Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering, University of Patras, Greece). He has more than 6 years of technical and management experience in research projects, funded by EC. His research work addresses topics, such as: Virtual Reality Applications in Product Design & Manufacturing, Collaborative Virtual Environments, Digital Human Modeling, Computer Aided Ergonomic Design & Production and Evaluation of Vehicle Safety Systems Effectiveness. He has more than 20 scientific publications in international scientific journals, chapter's books and refereed conferences. He has performed labs on Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Virtual Reality (VR), Design For Assembly (DFA) and Statistical Process Control (SPC), under the undergraduate level's course of Manufacturing Technology I & II (lectures given by Prof. G. Chryssolouris). He has also supervised more than 10 undergraduate student's theses. He acts as a reviewer in the IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man and Cybernetics - Part A, since July 2005, in the International Journal of Computer Integrated Manufacturing, since June 2007 and finally he is member of the Editorial Review Board of the Scientific Journals International (SJI), since May 2009. Finally, he is a member of the European Association for Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality (EuroVR).
