WELCOME TO THE GENOMICS AND EVOLUTIONARY BIOLOGY USERPAGE!
Greetings and welcome to a new kind of place! This Userspace is affiliated with Wikiversity's Research portal, one of the world's first fully online research facilities. It is also part of the Wikiversity:Mentors program. You are welcome to contact me if you are interested in my research, research at Wikiversity, or Wikiversity in general. I am a professional bioinformatician interested in making university-type resources, including scientific scholarship, more widely available. The specific research projects I conduct change every so often, or students and volunteers may propose their own. I am not only interested in empirical and theoretical work, but also in conceptual essays about the philosophical underpinnings of scientific assumptions. For more information, click on the links above and below.
- G-Protein Coupled Receptor Gene Duplication Project - computational analysis of databases
- Echinoderm Nervous System Evolution Project - laboratory techniques
Essays Under Revision
- An essay about self-organization and its role in the evolution of complexity, currently formulated as a course
- How the theories of the Modern Evolutionary Synthesis should be reformulated for today's evolutionary biologists
Happy Editing! If you're not sure how to edit or just want to learn more, this free workshop on a related site called WikiEducator will teach you the ropes and connect you with some of the friendliest and most enthusiastic people in the wiki world. It's regularly offered as an online course, which I took back when I was a novice user.
