How about an interoperability initiative with WikiEducator?

e.g. share templates, search both sites, detect clashes or existing pages with the same name in the other project during creation, ...

I am not sure how this would be done exactly - via wv: and we: name spaces, via de-coupled services indexing both sites, etc.

Why? - for one thing it would be useful to be able to use WikiEducator pedagogical templates on Wikiversity and Wikiversity portal templates on WikiEducator.
