John W. Blase is currently the Assistant Principal for New Tech High @ Zion-Benton East in Zion, Illinois. He has worked as the Lead English teacher at Round Lake High School in Round Lake, Illinois for two years, and taught high school English for nine.

His educational background consists of a Bachelor of Arts in English with a focus in writing from Illinois State University, a Master of Arts in Teaching degree with specialization in secondary education from National-Louis University, with further graduate work in Educational Administration from Aurora University.

He has taught AP English Language and Composition, courses in literature, both expository and creative writing at the high school level, and is working on the publication of several screenplays, poems, and short stories. Several of his letters have been published by the Chicago Tribune.
