Can you even up the etas in the line above? I've asked about this here: Sizing symbols with subscripts.

One way seems to be to split the eta-squared and the subscript: $\eta^2$ and $\eta^2$ $_p$ ; even better maybe is $\eta$ $_p^2$ .
