Content development projects
One of the great inventions at Wikipedia is the "wikiproject". At Wikipedia a wikiproject is a set of pages devoted to content development for a particular subject. Wikipedia has an extensive guide for how to make and run a wikiproject. An aspect of the wikiproject phenomenon that I have never understood is the "WikiProject Council". My initial awareness of the Council was when I noticed that there was an attempt to make people submit proposals or requests for new wikiprojects. I'm sad to say that I even voted to have one particular wikiproject launched even though I do not understand how anyone claims the authority to regulate the start of wikiprojects.
Wikipedia has a "Directory" of wikiprojects that I find most interesting because there is a hierarchy of layers such as Science which contains individual wikiprojects such as Molecular and Cellular Biology. At Wikiversity we have Schools and Topics. Given the amount of traffic there, I am tempted to start with a make-over of School:Computer Science, but another possibility would be to start with a Topic page such as Topic:Computer Programming. I feel like there should be distinctive looks for School and topic pages. Wikipedia has a flat template (Template:WikiProject), but I'd rather have something like what is used here.
