I am in the process of conducting original research on myself.
From July 9th to the 11th 2010 I was in Gdansk, Poland at Wikimania 2010. I will be giving a short talk on Friday about collaborative lesson planning. If you want, you can read the speech I wrote. The research I have begun, but not finished above is a small example of how to achieve the goals I mention in my speech. Additionally, I've put up a lot more lesson plans with the same aim on my own wiki. I published them there first so later I could enter them into the Public Domain if I want. Unfortunately, many of the lessons on my own Wiki have been vandalized.
Also, I have a irregularly updated website.
[edit] to-do list for research
- Implement this idea from Grandma somehow "But you don’t say anywhere that you thank the students for coming to class or ask them about the content of the class material. Also do you start class on time? and end on time? Always atart and end your class on time."
[edit] experiment with a research paper
In late July 2010 I finished and then posted a research paper to my user profile. I asked the colloqium what they thought and am currently awaiting their response. In the mean time, if you're interested please read and improve the paper. To quote myself, I believe this is justified because:
- it has a chance to be helpful for someone else interested in the topic, is open to improvement from the community which might lead interesting places and I feel Wikiversity might be a good place for students and teachers to host their electronic portfolios.
Please improve the paper and or let me know what you think in my talk pages.
[edit] GRE
I signed up to take the GRE on August 17, 2010. Until then I plan on self-prepping. Hopefully I'll be able to expand the Wikiversity GRE resource along the way and/or use Wikiversity to track or improve my study habits.
