Hello! My name is Marissa. I am a student at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte . I am an education student who is very interested in diversity,classroom management,and social studies. My concentration is international studies.I hope to one day be a school administrator. Besides education, I love to barefoot waterski, sew, knit, and travel (I have been to South Africa, and Greece).In South Africa, I taught at Xoleni Youth Centre in Walmar Township for five months while studying education at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University.

- There are no concentrations for elementary/primary school teachers in Germany
- Germany looks at specialization as taking classes to specifically teach in certain areas
- North Carolina, USA looks at specialization in terms of cocentraion and are extra classes taken in order to be a mini-expert on a subject. This is part of the inital lincensure/teaching certificate.
- These sorts of international projects can be helpful for all of our future students to engage in. These projects help with global awareness and respect of other cultures.
- To build our knowledge in the area we are not specialized in there are workshops,classes can be taken, talk to advisors for suggestions, gain knowledge through tutoring.
