My name is Allison Trotter and I am from Charlotte, North Carolina. I attend The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where I am in my third year. My concentration is visual and performing arts. I love listening, playing, and singing to music! I hope to one day travel to another country, but have not had that opportunity yet. My goal is to one day teach 1st or 2nd grade!

Open education allows students to explore on their own time and freedom. They can go at a pace that is beneficial to them. Montessori schools are an example of open education.	How successful is open education compared to a behavioristic view of education? Is open education the same in Bulgaria and Germany as it is in America? Is there a certain group or "type" of child that works best in an open education experience?	In some studies performed, open education has not been as successful as some people hope for it to be.

1. What are the benefits to students who participate in these types of projects? 2. What similar types of projects might we do with students when we begin teaching?
