Topic talk:Linux desktop
From Wikiversity
Shell scripting seems something best left for a topic on it's own right. I'd suggest that this topic keep more focus on just using the Linux Desktop; in this sense it's aimed at people possibly migrating from Windows who have already installed Linux and are now faced with a desktop straight out of the box per-se. I'm less interested in creating just a resource on How to Use Linux -- that might be better for something like wikibooks. What I'm interested in is giving a gentle introduction to how to use the Gnome desktop to do things that a user might have already done on Windows, to present a case for Open Source and Gnu/Linux systems in education, and to provide pointers to other resources that are out there to help educators and students get more from using Linux and open source apps for education.
