Discussion Topics[edit source]

If anyone has anything they want to suggest, discuss, or point out about the Departmental webpage, this is the place.

A good starting point would be a general introduction to the practice of historiography and it's usefullness in the study of history. Within this, we can discuss different focuses of historal study within the context of Canadian historical study i.e. Clerical History, Social History, Economic History, Priarie History etc. In each of these we can see how historians examine historical facts and interpret them. Comparison of different forms of historical interpretation is very fulfilling as it allows us to understand the different ways in which histories are analyzed...i.e. Was Louis Riel a hero or a traitor?
