Veterinary Anatomy deals with the structures and organ systems of animals. Anatomy is usually very closely linked with physiology as the structure of many organs dictates their function. Unlike human anatomy veterinary anatomy deals with many species and their unique species specific anatomical features. This said most animals do share many anatomical traits and systems.

The basis of all multicellular organisms is the cell so before studying larger scale anatomical structures or their physiology brushing up on the basic anatomy and function of the cell could prove useful.
