The BJT Modes
From Wikiversity
Base on our simple model from the previous lesson we can define the four many modes of a BJT transistor
| Mode | EBJ junction | CBJ junction |
| Cut-off | Reversed | Reversed |
| Active | Forward | Reversed |
| Reverse-Active | Reversed | Forward |
| Saturatied | Forward | Forward |
It is important to note that these rules apply for the PNP transistor as well. We dont care how the diode gets forward biased, merely that it is forward biased.
