The Royal Institution of Great Britain was founded in March of 1799. The goals of the society were to introduce new technologies and to teach science to the general public. Some of the founding members included George Finch, Samuel Glasse, and Thomas Bernard.
Today the society still exists and is still upholding the goals of the original institution: connecting people with the world of science.
