Paul
From Wikiversity
Paul was a devout follower of Jesus Christ, although he did not begin this way. He was first raised a Jew and specifically a pharisee by the name, Saul of Tarsus. After Jesus' death, resurrection and ascension, Saul felt it was his duty to suppress the new movement called Christianity and he is first encountered at the stoning of Saint Stephen as the coat bearer of the executioners.
Later, on his way to Damascus, Jesus Christ himself appears to him and confronts him, striking him blind. Saul is then named Paul and instructed to go to Ananias for the restoration of his sight and to cease from the persecution of the church. Paul then becomes the minister of the gospel to the gentiles. This account can be found in Acts 9.
