Intro [edit]
Literature [edit]
The history of Cuba is summarized in less than 60 pages beautifully by Guillermo Cabrera Infante in his book Vista del amanecer en el trópico (1964, published in English as A View of Dawn in the Tropics). It is a concise collection of synoptic vignettes describing scenes of the key historical events of Cuba which could give the uninitiated a feel for the ironic destiny which history has always dealt to the inhabitants of this island-paradise.
If you are really interested in the history of Cuba you would have to know Spanish and read Levi Marrero's 8 volume History of Cuba.
