This duty involves projecting a positive image of the fire department to the community, according to the following job performance requirements.

Terminal Objective: Attend, participate in, and assume a leadership role in given community events in order to meet community needs and enhance the image of the fire department.

Enabling Objectives:

  • Describe the departmental community demographics
  • Explain the departmental community and civic issues
  • Define effective community service methods

  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate orally
  • Demonstrate the familiarity with public relations


Terminal Objective: Given fire service issues, monitor, local, state and federal legislative activities in order to enhance the effectiveness of the fire department.
