Doors or people
From Wikiversity
I need to know if there are more doors, or people in the entire world.
Every living person in the world, including infants counts as one person each. The current estimate for the world wide population is roughly 6.564 Billion individuals.
Every door that you have to walk through counts as one door. Car doors, bus doors, bathroom stall doors, gates, garages, arches, doorways without doors, and other, "non structurally integrated" doors do not count towards this total. Cabinets, drawers, and large windows do not count either. We're talking about regular, doors. These include batrhoom, bedroom, closet, front, back, garage, exterior, shed, sliding, and pantry doors count. Doorways with multiple doors, such as revolving doors, double doors, or multiple automatic doors only count as one each.
- You "need" to know? :-) I honestly don't know how to answer such a question - I suppose it could be esitmated by getting an average of how many people live per dwelling, and finding how many doors are in a dwelling - on a country by country basis. This is likely to be very sketchy - as it will exclude the homeless, and it's difficult to say what an average dwelling is, or how to even find such statistics. Sounds like a research project for our Demography pages. Good luck! Cormaggio talk 15:48, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
