Biomimetics is the study of the structure and function of biological substances as models for material design and manufacturing.

Biomimetics is, at root, the science of mimicking nature on large scale for the betterment of technology. For years people have realized that such things as spider silk and beetle shells are much more efficient than anything that we've ever created. Many things that we have created are directly copies of things that we have observed in nature. [[Category:Biomimetics]]
