Removal may not be needed for valve train service.

Removing cylinder head while hot may cause it to warp. Only heat can cause distortion, not pressure.

Prior to removal: Remove rocker arms, push rods, and cover, if OHV Remove the timing belt, if OHC

Use a spring compressor on the valve springs to release the keepers and valves.

Keep these parts organized, do not lose their place Same goes for intake manifold bolts and exhaust manifold bolts
